We are delighted to report that our Debra Clapham of Claphams Solicitors persuaded East Renfrewshire Council in November to donate a Menorah to sit at Clarkston Toll to celebrate the festival of Chanukah earlier this month.  There had been a Menorah at the Toll previously which had been donated by Sholom Jacobs of the Lubavitch Foundation.

The venture was supported by MP Kirsten Oswald and we celebrated the first night of Chanukah and the installation of the Menorah with an evening reception held in the offices of Allen and Harris in Clarkston who kindly agreed to hold the event at their premises.

We were honoured by the presence of Kirsten Oswald MP, Jackson Carlaw MSP, local faith leaders from other faiths, council members, and other dignitaries. Rabbi Naftoli of Newton Mearns Hebrew Congregation made the blessings and music was provided by Charlotte Sagar, Harpist.

MSP Jackson Carlaw tweeted some photos from the event, which you can see here.

The event was sponsored by Claphams Solicitors.
